What are the facts?

At least 50,000 AIDS orphans and vulnerable children live in Africa’s poorest slum – Kibera – located in Nairobi, Kenya. Kibera is home to over 1 million people, where extended families, generally totalling 8 or more, live in small mud/stick shacks with corrugated roof and no electricity. There are no government hospitals or clinics, no proper sewerage systems and one latrine (hole in the ground) is shared by up to 400 people.

What are we doing about it? After seeing the need first hand in June 2005, Oasis Africa Australia was established to raise awareness and funds to help create a better future for these children through development of community based schools which provide food, education, shelter, safety, health services and essential trauma counseling.

All Oasis Africa Australia Fundraising is Authorised Under Section 16 of the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991 - Office of Charities,  NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming ad Racing - NSW State Government, Australia.
